Vendor Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for managing procurement vendor activities and maintaining both new and existing vendor relationships.  Position will assist with on boarding of new suppliers where appropriate.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure that vendors meet all company onboarding requirements.
  • Supplier coordination including on-boarding, document exchange, coordination approvals.
  • Builds relationships with vendors.
  • Review and manage vendor due diligence including vendor insurance requirements and management of certificates of insurance.
  • Assist Procurement Manager in vendor selection, management, and performance.
  • Manage cross-team communications, providing excellent service to internal customers.
  • Assist with on boarding of new suppliers where appropriate.
  • Manage business relationships with key assigned suppliers.
  • Manage the processing of all requests for new vendors, vendor profile changes and vendor insurance for all vendors in the US market.
  • Perform related procurement activities as assigned.
  • Expediting as needed.
  • Participates on local or global cross-functional teams.

  • Other duties and projects as assigned by management.

 

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or other related field with 5+ years of related experience.
  • Experience with vendor onboarding, confidential document exchange and ability to learn and be aware of technical aspects of certain company requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. 
  • Excellent people skills, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with company proprietary information.
  • Must be able to use and acquire knowledge in a variety of computer software applications – spreadsheets, database, presentation, etc.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate with other employees and read and write at a level that will enable one to perform work in a professional, safe, and efficient manner.
  • Must possess at any time a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to ORMAT’s auto insurance carrier.
  • Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The ability to work at a computer, and a computer monitor, and use repetitive motion for long periods of time.
  • The ability to occasionally life up to 25 pounds.
  • This position requires sitting 80% of the time and standing/walking 20% of the time.
