Maintenance Planner

 

Position Summary

 

Salary Range: $43.43- $54.29

 

This position is responsible for coordinating and administering the computerized maintenance system, and maintenance activities, and ensuring all maintenance work is completed, tracked and performed in as cost effective a manner as possible in the CMMS (SAP PM / Prometheus Platform) This position will be responsible for supporting multiple Ormat Energy Storage Sites. This position is in-office only.

 

 

Essential Functions

  • Administer the computerized maintenance management system to plan, schedule and monitor the completion of work orders. Work within the SAP PM systems and using multiple T-Codes to produce reports surrounding KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) as needed.
  • Be able to write purchase orders within the SAP system.
  • Supervise field staff as required.
  • Maintain equipment information, analyze and regroup preventative maintenance entities and ensure the integrity of the data in the maintenance management system
  • Assist in developing and updating a predictive, preventative and condition-based maintenance program in order to maximize the reliability of operational equipment
  • Create, generate, schedule and assign preventative maintenance tasks, calibrations and inspections in the CMMS (SAP PM / Prometheus Platform)
  • Audit assignments to ensure repair schedules and performance expectations are met
  • Participate in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the maintenance program and implementing changes as needed
  • Assign work orders, predictive and preventative maintenance tasks to maintenance & operations resources as directed by site managers.
  • Audit processed work orders to ensure all task(s) have been completed
  • Strictly adhere to and enforce all safety procedures as required by ORMAT, CAPP, NEC, NFPA, and OSHA
  • Serve as a technical resource for the maintenance mechanics, provide assistance resolving difficult work problems and/or perform journey- level work in the troubleshooting, design, installation, repair and upgrading of systems
  • Read and understand blueprints, drawings, specifications, sketches and technical documentation
  • Assist in negotiating contractor/vendor terms, pricing, and schedule requirements
  • Assist in obtaining competitive quotations, negotiate prices and terms and make vendor recommendations for supplies, equipment and services
  • Assist in developing supplier and contractor relationships
  • Determine equipment & labor requirements for repairs, improvements and preventative maintenance
  • Effectively communicate planned & unplanned work, maintenance improvements and engineering projects/activities with operations and maintenance
  • Notify management of any problems or issues with planning and scheduling and advise when planned downtime should be rescheduled. Communicate and coordinate plan changes
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English at a level which will permit the employee to accurately understand and communicate information to safely and efficiently perform the job duties
  • Must possess at any time a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to ORMAT’s safe driving program
  • Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner
  • Must have the ability to travel to other locations around the United States as this position will support the maintenance planning at multiple current and future Ormat sites

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • The ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the areas of assignment as would be acquired in three to four years of high school
  • 5 years’ experience in the maintenance or engineering field(s)
  • SAP and CMMS experience preferred
  • Must be accurate, detail oriented, self-managing, self-motivated
  • Strong organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and follow through skills
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, and Word. Knowledge of Microsoft Power Point and Access is desirable
  • Able to work well individually or in a team orientated environment
  • Ability to multi-task well and change priorities quickly
  • Must have the ability to speak, read, and write the English language
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays, when necessary

 

Physical Requirements

  • The ability to work at a computer and computer monitor for long periods of time
  • The ability to lift 20 pounds periodically
  • Must be able to climb ladders, climb to and work off of elevated platforms, ladders and walkways
  • Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats safety glasses, ear protection, dust masks, and gloves as needed). This includes company provided fire retardant clothing
  • Job requires sitting and/or standing for long periods of time with moderate bending, stooping, and kneeling
