Origination Intern

Position Summary

The Market Development and Origination Intern is responsible for supporting the company’s market entry analysis, focused on identifying market conditions that unlock storage and solar + storage revenue growth. This strategic analysis will support the company’s portfolio and pipeline of energy storage assets.

Essential Functions

  • Support expanding Ormat’s business models and offerings.
  • Track contract terms.
  • Gather and transform relevant market data from IRPs and other reports.
  • Perform primary and secondary research.
  • Track and analyze the Company’s competitive environment, including competitive pricing.
  • Support Market Analysis for international markets and or new products.
  • Develop and understand Long Term Capacity Expansion plans for markets as directed.
  • Developing market views on generation and transmission expansion including policy drivers as directed.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • Must be enrolled in graduate or undergraduate degree program.
  • Excel skills, including vlook-up and pivot tables.
  • Ability to function independently.
  • Appetite to explore the unknown.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a cross-functional environment with both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to explain and present complex technical information succinctly and efficiently to audiences internal and external, including financing counterparties.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel, including experience with project financial modeling.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working at a computer
  • Manual dexterity needed for keyboarding and other repetitive tasks
  • The ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds
