Position Summary

This position is part of the responsibilities of the project finance team and supporting Finance Department.

 

Position Location

[Reno] / [Washington DC] / [Philadelphia] with periodical travels to the corporate HQ in Reno.

 

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for identifying relevant federal, state, private and other relevant funding sources providing grants, incentives and funding tools to support innovative energy technologies such as EGS, BESS, etc.
  • Responsible for obtaining grants and non-grant funding to support Ormat’s innovative energy business, including preparation of application materials, overseeing funding processes, responding to due diligence requests, contractual negotiations of the funding documentation, and other relevant activities.
  • Coordinate and liaise with Ormat’s treasury, accounting, finance, resource, business development, BESS business unit and other relevant departments in connection with the implementation of the grants and funding proceeds.
  • Assist the project finance team in liaising with internal departments and external contractors for traditional project financing and tax monetization transactions.

  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned

 

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field or the equivalent combination of experience and education
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in grants and incentive funding in the energy sector
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to understand and summarize funding and other commercial contracts
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with company proprietary information
  • Must be team-oriented and demonstrate the ability to work with cross functional teams
  • Must have the ability to work independently
  • Must be able to use and acquire knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and use of the internet.
  • Must have the ability to communicate at a level that will enable the employee to safely and efficiently perform the job duties

 

 

Physical Requirements

  • The ability to work at a computer and computer monitor and use repetitive motion for long periods of time
  • This position requires sitting 80% of the time and standing and walking 20% of the time
  • The ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
  • The ability to travel by air and ground transportation for meetings, conferences, etc., to domestic and international destinations
